Youth Olympic Games Team Set

Six athletes were selected Friday during the Youth Olympic Games Team Trials at the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center. The six winners will represent the U.S. at the Youth Olympic Games Qualification Tournament in Tijuana, Mexico, March 3-4, 2010. U.S. Athletes that place in the top six at the YOG Qualification Tournament will qualify for the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore, August 14-26.

Qualifying for the team were Jessie Bates (Redondo Beach, Calif.) in the female 44-49kg division, Selina Tubbs (Plano, Texas) in the female 49-55kg division, Michelle Silva (Chicago, Ill.) in the female over 63kg division, Gregory English (Chicago, Ill.) in the male under 48kg division, Olie Burton (Alexandria, Va.) in the male 48-55kg division, and Jeffery Williams (Blue Island, Ill.) in the male 55-63kg division.
